The safety and security of your information also depends on you. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your computer and to the password we have given you (or you have chosen) for access to certain restricted areas of our Site. AlphaLife is not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites and encourages you to be aware of when you leave this Site and to read the privacy policies of every site that collects personally identifiable information.
8. ADDITIONAL RIGHTS AND CHOICES
This section supplements the other provisions of this Policy.
(a) Children Under 13 Years of Age. The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”) restricts the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information of children who are under the age of 13 (“children,” “child”). COPPA also requires us to obtain verifiable consent from a child’s parent or legal guardian (“parent(s)”) for certain collection, use, and disclosure of the child’s Personal Information. It is our policy not to condition participation in our Site on a child’s disclosure of more Personal Information than is necessary to participate. We encourage parents to educate their children about safe internet use and to monitor their children’s use of our Site.
Before we collect any Personal Information from a user, we require the user to specify his or her age. When a user indicates an age under thirteen, we obtain verifiable consent from a parent as required by law. For instance, we will send parents an e-mail when their child registers and enters a contest. Parents have 48 hours from receipt of notice to refuse their child’s registration. If the parent refuses or we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child without verification of parental consent, we delete that information. If we do not hear from the parent, we assume the parent has consented to the child’s registration. Other levels of verification may be implemented when a child participates in activities where the child’s Personal Information will be disclosed to other individuals or to the public. In such cases, we may require parents to provide credit card information, return a signed consent form by mail, or follow another means to provide verifiable consent.
Parents may contact us to review their child’s submitted Personal Information at any time, to require us to delete all Personal Information about their child, or to refuse the further collection or use of their child’s Personal Information. Parents have the right to consent to this Site’s collection and use of their child’s Personal Information while prohibiting disclosure of Personal Information to third parties that are not providing support for the internal operations of this Site.
If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under thirteen without verified parental consent, please contact us. We reserve the right to make some or all portions of the Site unavailable to children.
(b) California Residents. California law may provide you with additional rights regarding our use of your Personal Information if you are a California resident. To learn more about your California privacy rights, visit https://oag.ca.gov/privacy/ccpa. California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) also permits California residents to request from us certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
(c) Nevada Residents. Under Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A, Nevada residents may submit to us a request to exercise their sale opt-out rights.
9. CHANGES TO OUR POLICY

You are responsible for periodically reviewing this Policy to check for any changes as they shall be equally binding on you. Your continued use of this Site following the posting of the amended Policy will constitute your acceptance of and agreement to such changes.
